Here are a few details of funding sources for the Temple construction of Bijni Laxmi Mandir
  • From Assam Govt. Received Rs. 10 Lacs under the "Assam Darshan Scheme". For this the first initiative was taken by Ex- Bijni MLA Kamal Shing Narzary.
  • A certain amount of funds is received from all shop owners who belong to the Bijni Laxmi Mandir Market Complex.
  • Additionally, Many devoted people also offered funds according to their own abilities.

History of Bijni Sri Sri Lakshmi Mandir

Introduction:- Previously Bijni was known as Bijni State and it was founded by the King Bijit Narayan in the year of A.D. 1671.  The capital of Bijni state was Puran Bijni and then shifted to Jogighopa and again shifted to Abhayapuri in the era of various descendants of the same royal family. Later, in 1891 the royal family officially inaugurated the temple.

I n 1864 the royal family faced tough challenges from the king of Bhutan. Then Bhutan king's commander Jawlia Dhoom invaded Bijni state in the same year and The King of Bijni lost the battle. Then Bijni came under the administrative part of the Bhutan kingdom.

Chief Minister of Assam - Himanta Biswa sharma

As per the resolution of this year, Bijni PUJA & MELA will be celebrated from the 16th of October to 30th of October, 2024. Before starting of Bijni Laxmi Mela, it is reported by the committee that the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma is going to cut the ribbon of the Newly built Bijni Laxmi Mandir.

Himanta Biswa Sarma is coming to Bijni, in the first week of October. Some other prominent ministers will also participate including................
